Title: Stupid question time
Post by: dnjinoz on August 23, 2007, 06:24:36 PM
When someone asks you what kind of bike you own do you catch yourself wanting to say Magna like Dr. Evil on the Austin powers movie?
I know he say magma but it's too close to one another.
Sorry my mind tends to wonder at times.

I can't say I have seen the movie series (only while channel surfing).

I normally just say it is a Magna V4 followed with it is a 4 cylinder.
I did have to say no it is not the V65 once, and my pastor of my church said the super was his favorite

It comes down to the same thing for me, Magna V4, making sure I emphasize the V4 part.

My favorite line is "I'd love to have a new V-Twin, I just can't see paying that much for a new bike that won't keep up with the old one I got now" :D

A V-Twin is merely a layaway program. the other half of the engine is still on layaway!  LoL.

I just say a Honda 750 4 cylinder. Then I say "Wanna race?"
Had to call on a customer last week about 2 hours ride from my home, took the Magna. What a ride! Passing traffic was done faster than I could even think about it! Pretty scarry actually; a tractor trailer pulled out in front of me to pass a couple of vehicles after I had passed 5 cars and about to pass him. He damn near put me off the road! Of course I was moving right along when he made his move; this on a two lane highway! I reported the jerk to the RCMP - they always get their man!
Anyway, the bike is VERY fast if you care to drive it like that, and I do! I think a V twin just couldn't cut it, not in a 750 anyway. Maybe an 1800 or so could, but then your talking 750 lbs + or-.
Cheers!
Greg

Actually the guys at work are starting to call it the custom.   cycle-istic risers, centerstand, brakestay rod, and V4 Trim and back pegs extenders. Chrome trim on license plate, car tire for a back tire, driving lights, LED light kits, extra sissy-bar LED taillight for travel bag, modified mufflers, Blade-runner windscreen and bags, custom ostrage seats and passenger backrest, cruise control, Longhorn Offset highway pegs, matching tool and saddle bags, customized trim to hold the wires at the front of the tank, air horns, GPS, bell from Mount Rushmore, alarm with pager.  Oh yes the Magnum 7 gallon gas tank with chromed gas cap, gun metal gray with ghost flame.  It is getting harder to convince my wife I am riding a bike for gas mileage.

Robert, I stopped trying to preach that after the first tire changes!!!!!

I should say it is harder to continue the argument because at first it was gas milage.  The first modifications where for safety: mufflers, bigger back tire and brakstay rod, night driving lights, backrest for my back.  The paint job and gas tank was her instigation and the tool and saddle bags was a birthday gift from her father.
