Hi,
The PO of my '02 Magna installed a Memphis Fats shield; however, he trimmed it down to an oddball height and since I don't know the original height I can't deduce the answer to my question, which is: When sizing their sheilds, does Memphis use the horizontal metal bracket that runs across the shield as their baseline for determining height? For example, would a 17" shield be 17" above the cross brace? Thanks for any info you can give.
Joe
National measures from the top of the headlight cutout. I believe Memphis Shades measures from the top of the headlight. Memphis Shades has a height measurement chart in the J & P Cycle catalog. I had a 21" Memphis Fats on my 87 and was looking thru it. I'm 5' 9" and had to cut it down to 17" to see over it, according to the Memphis Shades chart.
Memphis is as Charles stated.
Top of headlight cut-out to top of shield. If you don't like the shield you have most Memphis shields of that style (FATS or SLIM) will fit your brackets.
Thank you both. A sales clerk at Cruiser-customizing told me it was from the cross mount, which apparently is incorrect.
