Title: Moyer Fuel Tank Renu
Post by: seratt on September 10, 2007, 01:11:16 AM
Has anyone dealt with these guys before?

http://www.gas-tank.com/

I have an old 80' cb900c with rust in the tank.  I read a good review of these guys somewhere, and bookmarked them a few weeks ago.

Says the average price is 250 to 325$.  Not too bad I guess.  I'm sure it would be a much better job then something I would do.

I used Don Hart Restorations in Hockley,TX  for the last tank I had restored.  It seems like the same type of service and I spent $185 for the complete restore job and it came back looking amazing with a 10 year warranty.  That was on a Rebel tank which is a little smaller.  Here is their website. Good luck.

Buster Powers in Cedar Hill, TX is currently working on my '85 V65 project. I have known him for 3 years.

He is a former North Central Texas factory representative for one of the major automotive paint manufacturers and has been around paint since 1967.

He operates a one man show at his homeplace (low overhead) and is meticulous with his work while being very reasonable with his pricing.

He paints motorcycles and components as well as fixes rusty messes ( a Triumph tank he showed me this weekend looks like somebody parked it on the bottom of Lake Joe Poole for 5 years, yuck). This guy knows how to bring them back from the dead.

His number is 972-291-3314.

He can't always deliver quick, but he does deliver good. Have him send you some pictures. His work is awesome stuff.

Thansk Smoked, I may have to look into him also.

I called Don Hart today to get packing instructions and what not.  He said the size of my tank normally runs around $200 Greg.  That's a 3.8 gallon tank off an older cb900.

Like everyone else, it depends on the scope of work. I would suggest that you get your details together and talk to him specifically about what you have and where you want to end up. He is an easy going guy.
