I did a search but no go. I am doing a quicky clean on a 96 Magna. Recently added V&H pipes. I am shimming the needles and upping it to 105 main jets. I need the float level spec. Yeah, I know, buy a manual. I will. I promise. anything else I need to look at while I am in there. Dang, there's a lot of hoses and vacuum lines in that area. I'm spoiled by my V65 Magna. 1 fuel line. That's it.
Well if you did not mess with the floats and I mean like bending things they should be OK I have never checked mine and have had them apart many times!!!!!
I agree, if the floats are still factory settings then you should be fine, I have installed jets on more than I can count now and have not had an issue with the floats being left at stock setting.
The pilot jet setting is the one to adjust, if you have just V&H mufflers and stock air filter then I set the pilot jets (little D-shaped dudes) between 3 to 3 1/8 from a light seat.
Probably fine but as I have them out it would be nice to verify. Another question. I pulled one of the diaphragms and pushed the needle thru. There is a washer in there on the needle already. Either someone already shimmed these or it is Index 2 in the fiche, block E17-1. Thoughts? I should of just gone over to Greg's place but I hate having others do what I can do.
Nope when you are done you will have 2 washers under the needle
They come with one shim already, simply add the other one on top of it.
I understand when I have stuff apart I like to check all that I can, however in this instant I can say very positively that unless someone has monkey'ed with it, then they will be fine.
If I have to I will go find my manual and look it up LoL, please dont make me get off my butt and go into my garage again to find it LoL.

I feel your pain. No rush. I'll close them up tomorrow around Noon. Spotted a couple of factory service manuals on ebay. One of them will be mine. The bike does not need work aside from the carbs so hopefully the book will gather much dust. Thanks guys.
Ok the manual states 13.7 mm or .54 inches we have the manual somewhere on this site and have it on PDF !!!!
Freaking sweeet!!! Just got it all back together and where before it took 5 minutes of warm up to get rolling and still sucked til the revs were up, now it fires right up, revs strong while cold. Too late to go for a test ride. We're both dirty and tired. Do it tomorrow and then off to Leonard, TX for the V4 BBQ. Maybe I'll see someone there from MOOT. Thanks for the help and the written guide. Dang there are a lot of rubber hoses on these carbs! :D
Glad to hear ya got it back together and running better...
Sure you dont have a Cali model??
Billy I live in Sulphur Springs and work a lot in Greenville which is close to Leonard. What is the v4 BBQ? I had heard that there was a club of V65's somewhere around there.

Kale,
Here is the link. Come on by. We are not V65 specific nor are we a club. Just a bunch of V4 riders who hang out on various V4 forums and get together twice a year. We are mostly 1st Gens. The wife's 96 is making the trip this time. ST or two might show as well as some non V4's. A few members went to the dark side. Sport bikes and sport tourer from Kawi. We'll be pulling out shortly. Anyone here wants to stop by you'll be welcomed.
Billy
