Ms. "Vee" has all of her makeup on and is ready for inspection.
I look forward to her meeting all of you DFW MOOTsters in the near future.
Looks GREAT! Keep up the great work! Looking forward to seeing it in person!
Very nice! I wish my first gen looked half as good as that. Does she run as good as she looks?
Now THAT's a paint job !!!!!

The short version of the story is that the engine has a slight stumble at idle whether cold or warmed up. I am still seeing some rust particles being trapped in the see thru filter (the second of two in line filters) even after I cleaned up/out the fuel system. it remains to be seen whether Seafoam, time and riding will clear this up or if a carb job is in my future (low speed jets clogged with junk).
Currently Ms. "Vee" goes plenty fast for this middle aged fat white man. I'll be glad just to get the rest of the parts polished up on her.
She has been an exciting and rewarding project thus far.

Okay, one more paint shot.
Another quick Ms. "Vee" war story.
I bought this V65 thinking it was blue and it was actually purple. "Wadda ya gonna do", I have red-green color blindness. I reserved myself to accepting it that way and was going to don it the "Purple People Eater".
When I took it over to my paint guy, Buster Powers, it was discovered to have a bad "Kreem" job (see my previous post "Bubba Kreems a tank").
After Buster cleaned up and re-Kreemed the tank, the decision was made to change the entire color and do a striping graphic.
After reviewing pictures on the web and looking at some of the custom jobs on some cycles at AL Lamb Honda here in Dallas, I had a rough idea of the look I was going for.
Buster opened up a can of beer one Friday night and he and I spent about two hours looking over sketches and pulling, stripping and re-pulling tape on the tank until we had the final scheme together. Other than the original blue and two tone silver colors which were my ideas, Buster worked in some white with pearl and the "fade to black" pattern on the striping. Thank goodness, this guy has the eye of an artist.
It took a bit of time, but I am really pleased so far with the final product.
Like the man says, "The initial cost of the bike is just the ticket to get through the door".
Shiny side up. Greasy side down.
I sold a tank a couple years back from a 3rd Gen that looks like that.
