Those who were at Charles' wrench day know that I've been here before:

I went by Al Lamb's Honda today to try to find out the scoop on the grease retainer disk that stopped me from swapping the swing arm before. I managed to save one disk out of the chrome swing arm the other day when I drove out the outer races that were in there during chroming. Armed with my Honda manual and the disk as evidence I was able to communicate what I needed. The parts guy didn't see it in the fische (I knew that was coming) so he got the service guy involved. They did some calling and found out the disk comes with the new bearing. So, today I ordered a new set of bearings from HDL ($32 per side, OUCH). Things are looking up!
Curtis
Curtis, glad to hear you were able to educate them on what you needed (and that it actually exists)
Looking forward to seeing the new farkle in action!
Curtis I thought you already had new bearings? Anyway if they don't come with the new bearings let me know what size you need I can get them stamped out for you.
Charles, are you able to make bearings? Are you a machinest?
Terry I'm a retire multicraft mechanic with lots of friends still in business who have lots of cool tools. I don't know any one who can make a bearing, but bushings yes I have access to a lathe and a mill. What did ya have in mind?
