Title: 3rd Gen Brake Master Cylinder Sight Glass
Post by: Chokse on December 08, 2007, 06:37:30 PM
When I bought my Magna, it had a knock-off (Made in China) brake master cylinder on it.  This master cylinder does not work well and, though it looks identical to the Honda part, the master cylinder rebuild kit from Honda does not fit it.  So, I found a used Honda master cylinder on Ebay.  I have the rebuild kit from Honda, and the aluminum body can be polished, but the sight glass is a problem.  It is so dirty that the fluid inside cannot be seen, and it looks to be cracked just a bit.

I found the post on here about replacing the sight glass, but some of the links are out-dated and are no longer active.  Also, on the link to the place to get the sight glass, I can't seem to find anything on their web site that is for a Magna.  Has anyone does this process of replacing the sight glass?  Could anyone point me in the right direction for both the parts and the instructions?  Thanks-

I bought a set of clutch and brake sight glass replacements on ebay and love them.  Mine is for an 83 V45.  I didn't save the invoice but the seller's email is billycarrjr<insert at symbol>earthlink.net.

Thanks.  I sent the guy an email and I'll wait to hear back.  I don't have any precise measuring tools.  I would appreciate it if anyone out there could measure the diameter of the sight glass on the 3rd Gen Manga master cylinder.  Maybe I can track something down if I knew the exact size.
