Title: Glass Bead Blasting
Post by: TLRam1 on February 10, 2008, 12:44:23 AM
Here are before and after bead blast pictures. If you need info where this guy is I will be glad to provide. The only before photo I have is the motor. The second picture is the only one I have of the battery box.

Before pics.

I didn't take before photos of the carbs.

Battery Box along with other bits from the T500. This is what they look like right out of being blasted, bare metal, no primer...yet.....but have to before they rust.

The bigger the better!  :-P

Depends on the nozzle you use, pressure and type of media. You can probably do it with a small compressor but would have to wait for the unit to catch back up, 5 HP twin cylinder compressor would be a good minimum to start from.

OK.  I need to know the place I can take my current project engine to have it blasted?  That looks awesome.  I've been sanding off and on for the past few weeks and it is not looking any better to me.

My son and I are working on a 85 Honda Rebel 250.  We've got it "streetable" and now were slowly trying to make it look nice.  It sat on a guys back porch for 8 years so the engine is definitely weathered.  I havent taken any photos.  I should so we can get the before and after.

Great project for you and your son to work on. Have to take some before photos to savor where it came from.
