Title: cruise control
Post by: ThomasMagna on September 06, 2005, 11:44:50 AM
Hello again,

I have a cruise control on the Magna, it was on when I bought it. At first I thought it was a dumb thing to have, a dangerous thing. I came to love it right away because I have artheritis and a touch of carpel tunnel and it comes in handy just to shake some life and mobility back into my throttle hand.

Here is my problem, it is not too reliabe at the moment. It appears to work by friction and sometimes won't hold the throttle at all. I can take a picture of it if some one out there needs it to help. Anyone have any idea how to keep the thumb lever locked down? Like I said, it is an intermitant problem.

Thanks.

There should be an adjusting nut just above the thumb lock, tighten this a little.  You want to be able to defeat the friction lock easily so do not tighten it too much.

Those things can be REAL exciting in a panick situation. I found out on my Gold Wing.   :(
