Title: V65 Temp
Post by: Marc Albea on September 14, 2005, 06:32:14 AM
Got a question for you V65 owners out there.

The water pump housing on the right hand side of the bike has 2 green wires coming from the wiring harness.  One of them goes into the bayonet connector that I would assume controls the pump and the other one goes to where?????

Any takers?

Thanks

Marc.

Marc this is a guess, but to the fan switch?  Figure the fan has to be triggered by something, LoL.
I dont have a wiring diagram in front of me but will dig around and see what I can fing.

Don't think that's it Greg.  It's a short wire, contained within the same area that the waterpump housing in in.  'Sides, I thought the fan switch was on the left side of the bike and the fan was triggered by heat through the Thermistor?

I'll have to find my schematics and see if I can locate.  Looks like at one time it might have had a donut type of connector on it but all that is left is a small blade that looks as if it has been broken off of something.

I really haven't had time to thoroughly research the problem as it was 0530 in the morning and I was at a gas station looking in very poor light.

Marc the only two wires I could find are on the thermostate housing on my 83, is this what your talking about?

I think Charles got it.  From what I can see it just attaches to the housing bolt.  Apparently mine broke.  I'll just have to cut and crimp a new one on.

Thanks!

Marc.
