Title: Help
Post by: Jamtndll on April 19, 2008, 12:31:20 PM
I finally got my speedometer and tack assembly back together and on.  My bike sat up for about a week.  Now it wont start.  It tries to but just wont.  I have tried choke, no choke, charging the battery.  Anyone have a suggestion.

Hot dog got it running.  Now I have another question.  When i got it running i noticed the tac not working.  The bike ran sluggish also.  Would not idle.  I remove the assembly and found one of the wires on the tac had come loose when putting it back on.  I reconnected the wire and it fired up, idled, and ran fine. Why is this?

Jim, that is a head scratcher....

Maybe (a shot in the dark outloud thinking here) since it is connected to the ignition that is was creating a ground or such in the system??    :-?

Now that you mentioned it i did have to tape a small spot on the wire where the insulation had rubbed away.  That may have been grounding it. Anyway not just need the exhaust pipes.  JC whitney has some after market pipes, any one ever use these.
