Title: 84' magna reserve tank
Post by: Wulverine on June 25, 2008, 03:26:18 PM
Hi, new to these forums, so be gentle.

I have a 1984 Honda Magna V65 that is in excellent condition...except for the reserve fuel tank.  I had the bike tuned up, and the carbs reworked about 3 years ago, and at that time, I had the mechanic "Kreem" the tanks..he didn't do the reserve tank.  The reserve tank is in pretty bad shape inside.  I've used a combination of air, suction, and so forth to remove the accumulated filth in the tank, however, I quite aware that replacement will be necessary.

My question:  Is there a plastic, or replacement tank available on the market for this Bike?

if so, I would much appreciate any information on where to purchase one.

Is your tank rusted through?

I am not aware of a plastic lower tank.  If it is not rusted through, as Terry asks, I'd suggest cleaning and seling the tank just as you have done with the main tank.  This is the course of action that I took with my V65 with very satisfactory results.  Please let us know how it goes for you, and post any other questions you may have
