Post by: TLRam1 on October 17, 2008, 06:52:53 PM
Does anyone know if this can be done and how?

I am not sure if this will help but here is an idea.
Most motorcycle keys will work either side up.  Have one side of the key the ignition and the other side the tank cap.

Finally, somebody answered.  :P

That's a good idea Robert although in this case I have another option and looking for stock fitment on both Magnas.

I will probably change the lock sets between the two but I have to drop the triple trees again on both bikes (trying to avoid) at once to change the steering lock in order to use the gas cap so one key fits all.

I'd Like to know how to get rid of the key in the gas cap, or a replacement cap that would fit without a key. I'd like to use an aftermarket cap, but i've only been able to find harley-style caps, or screw in caps, but you have to weld in a new bung. anyone know of any aftermarket caps without keys that will fit?
