Title: Athenoes Greek Cafe
Post by: Greg Cothern on February 04, 2009, 09:10:27 PM
I am planning on riding over to Mesquite to Athenoes Greek Cafe Saturday for lunch about noon.  Its a small privately owned establishment with fantastic Greek food, and great service.  One of those places where the owner comes out and checks on you and makes sure you are taken care of...  I would like to bring in some more business to folks who are genuine and enjoy what they do, so how about it?  You up for some good food?  Come have lunch with us....

Already have a guy coming to ride on the SAT. breakfast ride than back to my house to break out my dirt bikes so he can get a feel for them. He is one of the vintage bike guys so we will ride a couple of our older bikes, he might ride his RZ350 Kenny Roberts edition.

If not for this, I would love to go.

The RZ350 is a fun bike to ride.  Very light and when that 2 stroke power kicks in you best be ready!

He recently got this running, also has chambers. I have looked for one as ones who have these really enjoy them! I will probably ride my GT380, needs miles on it.

A friend of mine had one, Kenny Roberts also.  If I remember right (this was back in 1989) he had reeds, exhaust and had dropped a tooth on the front sprocket.  I only weighed 125 lbs back then and could lift the front wheel in 2nd and 3rd just by rolling on the throttle, and if I was in the power band of course.  You KNEW when you where in the powerband for sure.

Dave arrived about 10 am this morning, we had a cup of java while telling lies.  Kelly called needing a bolt for his exhaust heat shield so I had to find one in the garage.
Dave, Anthony and I loaded up on the Valks and took the long way to Mesquite to meet up at Kelly's house.  After installing the bolt he was ready to ride!
We headed out east past Lake Ray Hubbard and enjoyed some of the country roads before heading to the Cafe were Kristi was waiting on us to arrive (she was on call for work).  Enjoyed a great lunch and more lie telling.  It was decided to do some more country road riding so we headed north and east around the top of the lake.  Kelly splitting off just east of his place leaving Dave, Anthony and I continuing on southward towards my place.
After Dave and I fixed the worlds problems he headed home..  If you missed it you missed some great food, good company, and fun riding...

Yessir, that Greek restaurant needs to be on everyone's list for a meal.

Played it smart with the salad and blew it with the Baklava  (God, it was good though). Their cheese and pita bread was a killer too.

I like eels except as meals and the way they feels.

Anyway, a lot of good riding in the wind today. Quite a bit of traffic, but a few high speed moments and twisty turns.

Thanks Greg and Kristi for the java.

now I know why Jimmy.

Wow, this thing is wild, and to think it's only a 350, YOU would not know it. Not much impresses me these days, this did.

I really need to get off my lazy butt and get my Avenger running.  The weather is slowly warming so I can stop using that as an excuse

Video of a drag bike racing a Suzuki TL 1000 drag bike.

Imagine pulling up on your magna and you can't keep up

Now your V65

Your sport bike

Vrod

Now your almost 200 HP Vmax

True this is a drag bike, also remember this is a 350cc bike.

Street models are not this fast but will give the Magna a run for there money.

None of my 2 Strokes are remotely close to performance, they are built as commuter or touring bikes.

Yeah, well I was going to, but I left my MOOT disc in the computer at the house again. I really got to put a checklist up on the garage door to review before every ride.

Just trust us. The food looked so good, you just wanted to gaze at it. Photos could not do it justice.

Well, it does snow in Texas occasionally -- only problem is, the parts where it snows are flatter than a gander's arch!

Ski Lubbock!!

He does want us to ski, that's why he made (big) lakes and ski boats :D..
