Yeah, Let's go to Mom's 24th Annual Crawfish Boil in Longview.
If it's been going for 24 years, it must be good

Several of us went a few years ago... It was not my kind of crowd.. We strolled around a bit then left to find better accommodations and food elsewhere, taking the long way home!

A guy on a health talk show was saying that people who eat crawfish, shrimp, lobster and scaleless fish (catfish, mahi mahi) will not live as long as people that don't eat those items. I have accepted the fact that I must give up a few years because those are all on my favorite food list. Mudbugs and beer!! Yummm
I have to reply to that note about people who eat crawfish and catfish do not live as long as others who do not eat those things. I am 14th generation born in the North American continent. My French ancestors were kicked out of Nova Scotia and ended up in South Louisiana. Crawfish and Catfish are absolutely delicious foods that many of the members of my family, for generations have eaten on a regular basis. The women on my mothers side of the family tree often live into their mid to late 90's - and the women on my dad's side of the family tree often live into their late 80's and early 90's.
So forgive me or not, I am not giving up my crawfish and catfish because some yankee did a study on it.
God Bless You all!

Precisely what I tell my friends when they remind me that motorcycling is dangerous!!

Love the reply! Obviously by looking at me you can tell that giving up foods I like isnt and option and watching and listening to health shows probably isnt my normal thing either. My catfish eatin family has also had alot of 90 somthing year olds in it. My 91 year old G'pa once caught a 27lb catfish on a cane pole. That is a fond childhood memory.
My father-in-law last year bought a magazine Texas Motorcycling or something like that.
It had a list of events one was a mosquito festival. They wanted to go I told them go ahead and take pictures.
Mosquito Fest in Clute. Good time!! I like about any "fest" though (maybe it's the funnel cakes). Go check out the engine at the Cotton Gin Festival next month in Burton.
