Title: 86 Crash Bars
Post by: Magna86 on April 02, 2009, 09:06:53 PM
Has anyone found good crash bars for the 86 V45? Apparently the JC Whitney Ones don't fit worth a damn and don't hold up well. I was thinking forward controls but you have to cut you original pegs to use them. Might have to buy an extra set of pegs?

I have crash bars/foot pegs that came off an '84 V45.  It is a one piece.  I have been trying to give them away for 4 yrs. You are welcome to give them a try.  Let me know if interested.

I had the jc whitney ones on my 86 and they fit ok and I dropped it once riding home in a rain strom and it held up really well me and the bike slid at least 30 or 40 feet scratched my windsheild a little bit but not a scratch on the tank.

Can someone post a picture of where the crash bars mount to the front cyl head? I believe I see the right spot and if I'm correct then these crash bars won't fit anything but an 84 model.
