Title: New Bike
Post by: TLRam1 on April 21, 2009, 11:30:56 PM
You know the dual sport I was working on last weekend.....I plan to replace that with this. Same bike but in a 2004 450, so here we go swapping out what I did last weekend to this new one. Should pick it up Thursday night.

Was the 250 and two stroke?
Is the 450 a four stroke?

Nice looking bike.
I have a friend that has 4 bikes one of them is a 650 dual sport.

Nice looking bike.
I have a friend that has 4 bikes one of them is a 650 dual sport.

Both of these are 4 strokes, only thing different is the size of the motor. I'll dual sport this one now and sell the 250. If I don't like the larger motor I will sell it and go back to the 250. I would like to have the parts swapped, inspected, insured, and ready to be tagged by next week. Tags will have to wait until I get the title back.

Anyone care to help?  :P

Terry..Nice would be great if I can afford it at the time. I missed a nice set off craigs list for $75.00...They looked nice but not perfect...Let me know what you have and what you want for it..I just want to put this bike back stock...When I get to the carbs. I want to check and see if they have been re jetted since this bike has Cobra Drag pipes now.....Too loud...So I want to get stock for it before I get into the carbs....My bike is far from show room quality For Now....Thanks
P.S. I have 2- street legal custom Golf-carts...(One Lic. Plate)....No Angel here...LOL

I'm legal in most places, if I had the disposable funds it would be easier for sure, but when you use a trailer 2-3 times a year at the most and the charge for plates are fairly high as in little break in the price, that's hard to swallow. My brother talked to several officers over this and stated they rarely worry about trailers for this reason, so my brother uses one plate for all his trailers.

Even with that being the case, I decided instead of swapping plates I registered mine as farm trailers, true there are limitations but if stopped I would explain the reason that I at least have them registered but with the little use they receive, etc. They are hauling dirt bikes back and forth or the other is to Home Depot and back. Use to be charged $5.30 to register a trailer, the state wanted more money so raised taxes in this manner.

Terry,

I do understand disposable funds.....Have that problem quite often...Hope I didn't offend anyone just being humorous....I rarely wrote trailer lic. plate violations either....

Did you have any stock mufflers for my 1999-750 Magna in mind?

Thanks.....Capt.Howard

Opps, :o I didn't know/remember you were a retired PO.

I will look in my attic this weekend to see what I have for pipes. Pretty sure they're not whole.
