Title: KG Slider Luggage Rack
Post by: arcaneman on December 06, 2005, 08:06:21 AM
It seems I read somewhere that KG made a luggage rack for their slider backrest assembly. Is this true? Does anybody have a picture of one or on there bike (V65). I would like to see what it looks like. Thanks, Mike MOOT #281

I have a KG luggage setup on my 1984 VF500C.  Box on the rack and removeable saddle bags mounted on side mounts.  Would like to find a setup for my VF700C (even thought about moving them from one bike to the other).  I do have some pictures of it and that I will send to you separate if you will provide your email address.

They have served me well, and now that I am riding the 700 mostly, I want the bags available.

They did make one for the V65 and have seen one recently on ebay.

I thought I had a picture of one but it was only the slider backrest.

Check out my photo album (http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/kdf9511/album?.dir=ae0c&.src=ph&store=&prodid=&.done=http%3a//photos.yahoo.com/ph//my_photos) for a set of pics of the KG rack and saddle bag instalation on a V45.  Here (http://v65.freeshell.org/sabmag/KG.html) is a page with pics of the rack mounted on a V65.  Also the mounting instructions and parts list for the Sabre.  The Maggie is very close only the front mount is a little different.

I think that they will fit both your VF500 and your VF700.  They look pretty universal.  You might have to make some spacers.

I see you are in Houston.  If you want to get together some time I ccould help you get them mounted.  It only took me about 2 hrs to do them.

Nice to see the pics.  That is the exact setup I have with the same bags currently on my VF500C.  I have been looking them over closely and thinking about moving them over to my VF700C.

Now that I have seen the pictures I am even more convinced that that is what I should do.

Thanks for sharing.
