I been fightin with this for a while. I got a truck 08 colorado, the bike fits in it but the rear tire sits right on the acces panel on the tailgate and I dont trust the tiny cables. Ive seen these things that fit right in the hitch reciever and basically you tow the bike on the rear wheel. being shaft driven, is there any concern? Its called a handi-hauler as seen in Easyrider. the website says that chains and belt drives have never had a problem. heres a website for one kind www.hhauler.com.
I often thought of that method and have seen it done. I think there was a discussion on the forum about this about a year ago. It seems scary to me but they do it.
I looked at that one and some other also. I liked this one it look like I could load it by myself if necessary.

Using the Slick Wheelie, can I transport my shaft-driven motorcycle?
We have not received any reports from our consumers with regards to any problems associated with the Slick Wheelie and shaft-driven motorcycles. But know that some shaft-driven motorcycles use a lubrication pump that requires that the motor be running in order for it to work properly. Should you have any doubt or concern about your specific model, please contact your motorcycle manufacturer, authorized mechanic or dealer.
I have one I have used for years carrying my XL-350 from CA to TX, to MS, back to TK, then to GA and finally to OK. Never had a problem, but I always took the chain off.
As far as carrying, it worked great and was fairly easy to load and unload. Once properly snugged into position, the cycle never moved at all. (Just don't back up!)
I would use it for an emergency but not for a long distance hauler. If I am putting alot of miles on my back tire, I'd rather be in the saddle. I didnt know they still made those. I haven't seen one since the 80's
