Title: New Custom Rear Tail light
Post by: thermoalex on June 15, 2009, 01:00:59 PM
Hi everyone, just wanted to show you the work in progress as I change out my stock rear tail light and indicators with these parts I purchased off ebay and from J&P cycle.  Not sure what indicators to go with yet, I have a used set of silver bullets but there the style with the wire coming out the back, I would rather replace them with the wire through the bolt style.

I'll post more pic's after I weld up the under frame with the new tail light/license plate bracket.

Billski no longer makes the magna version, that was the first place i looked.  It's still listed on his website but he won't make it any longer.

Ok, i've cut the under frame of the fender and welded on the new light bracket.  I've posted some pic of what it looks like.  I'll put it all back on the bike Wednesday after work.  I plan on installing the silver bullet turn signals in the holes in the new bracket, i'll just need to drill through the fender.  I'll post finished pics some time this week I hope.

Man the light looks good, I hope it's super bright, the Magna tail light is one of the weakest features on the Magna, maybe the only one :-?, nope forgot the regulator :D. Anxious to see it lit up, get some night pics 8).

Maybe I've got the wrong visual angle on this, but can you see your license plate numbers from behind the bike if you were following in a police car?

License plate is very visible, had a friendly police car behind me last night and they didn't seem to mind.

Its a intergrated led taillight for a 01-02 r6, then I fabbed up the fiberglass covering for it. If you have any fiberglass experiance its realy easy to make the cover. The light is a almost perfect fit as it is though.

Is there anyway that you could get some close up shots of the way that you mounted it. I am going to do this to my bike. Thanks

I'd ay both taillight mods look really good.  Also I would like to see some shots of your entire bike.  I noticed some other mods that you had.
