Title: Kuryakyn LED Battery Gauge
Post by: drkngas on June 21, 2009, 09:55:21 PM
I added one of these to my bike after reading all these regulator problems.  I mounted it between the gauges on that chrome piece.  Looks good there.  I ran the wire into the headlight and tied it into the power to one of the front running lights.  The battery level shows no green at idle, one green flickering at 3500 rpm and one green solid at 5500 rpm and higher.  This is after leaving my battery on the battery-tender till charged.

Does anyone else have one of these?  What does yours show?  Is powering it off of the running light OK or could that be affecting the reading?

Trying to be pro-active if a regulator failure is in my future.

I saw a cheaper version and did not buy it but I like yours.  Where did you get it?

Amazon. It was about $7 cheaper than anywhere else I saw it.

Its reading fine off the lights. there may be a little drop but not enough to worry about.
Sounds like its reading correctly.
at idle the voltage should be low and at speed it shouldn't light the indicators near 16V
