Title: Carb Leak
Post by: claytl on July 11, 2009, 02:13:07 PM
I have a carb that has started leaking. I checked out honda for a bowl gasket. They want 24.00 each. Is there any options or do I need to bite the bullet?

I don't know of any other places to get the O-ring gasket unless someone has a used one. Now you can try gasket sealer, but if that doesn't work you have to pull the carbs again. Is it overflowing causing it to leak from the overflow tube?

It just started leaking all of a sudden, without being worked on??  If so, I would think it more likely to be a float valve stuck.

I know someone who sells the correct, unformed 0-ring for $1.50 plus $3 shipping.  The formed ones are not much more either.  $4.50 I think.

Been my experience it is worth the $$ to get the correct OEM units.
