"HOT FIGERS".........LOL
When I ride at least 30 or 40 minutes and stop somewhere my ignition key when I pull it out feels like it just came out of a FIRE.. Is this normal on 3rd gens?
Yes it's normal
Mine does the same thing. I am glad I wear gloves. lol
I ride with gloves so I never notice it but last weekend Brenda's cousin got a new bike so we swopped bikes rode two or three miles. He wears fingerless gloves got back to the house he took out my key and almost dropped my keys.

Thanks you all......... I'll quit worrying about it...
The OEM key has a head encased in plastic, which helps keep from burning your fingers.
My backup key has a plastic cover over the head -- not as effective, but still helpful.
Its normal.
I did the modification using a handlebar cap to make a decraticve key but it still gets hot.
I wear gloves too and don't notice it till i stick it in my pants pocket. then the gloves come off real fast so I can dig the buring ember out of my pants!
I had just about made up my mind to move my ign, when Brenda took the Magna away from me. She has put some kind of plastic cover on her key and hasn't complained so I've kept my mouth shut (don't need any more projects) :D.
