I was thinking of removing my mirrors...
I've been in the process of removing everything that is not needed to keep the motorcycle running...
and I'd really like the look of the bike w/o the mirrors.

Legally...it is illegal to do so. In Maryland, you can ride without turn signals and front lights during the day but you must have two mirrors on the bike.
Think I'd get pulled over for it? I think it would be hard to think that I don't have the mirrors on my bike.
Thanks.
Mirrors are a safety feature and should remain on the bike regardless of the look..
You could buy a different style or go with bar end mirrors and give it a different look.. But if you fall over, or go through a tight spot, you are likely to loose at least one for sure...

I just put kuryakyn magnum mirrors on mine, the small head ones and not the plus size stems. They're nicer than the massive stock square ones but you can get ones for cheaper. You could get a small pair for about $50 I'm sure, the type they put on bobbers to keep them legal - cruisercustomizing have tonnes of them. I would have preferred to have the kuryakyn ellipse heads and the short stems because that mirror comes in convex too which provides expanded viewing in what is still a slightly smaller than stock mirror. But those only come with the long stems.
I agree. Sans mirrors is a cleaner look. But a small mirror might do the trick.
Have you ever ridden without mirrors? I wouldn't be able to stand it. I like know what is coming up behind me without having to turn around and look, which takes the chance something happens in front of you at that moment.
Just a bad idea IMO.
I agree that one needs mirrors on a bike.
I busted one of the stock mirrors once and bought an aftermarket mirror to replace it. It had the rectangular profile, and looked OK on the bike -- but I couldn't see much through it, as it vibrated excessively. I don't know how the damping in the Honda mirrors works, but it does! I wound up buying a new Honda mirror so I could actually see the image while riding.
I went for a brief ride on a friends bike, a Harley, with no mirrors and I could not stand it. I just have to know what is going on behind me, especially after being rear ended by a truck. I am a little paranoid now.
