Title: Fuel line routing - 1982 magna VF750
Post by: teebee on May 08, 2010, 09:19:40 PM
Went to replace the fuel filter on my '82 vf750 and had to drain the fuel tank to do it because the filter was connected directly to the aux. tank. This can't be right. Can someone clarify the fuel line chain. I think it should connect to the back of the petcock first and then to the filter. Am I right?

My '82 Magna project was the same way. If I need to replace the filter I will pinch the line with vise grips or have someone hold it. Another option I have used is a clear filter from Auto Zone(and others) and putting it on the left side under the main fuel tank just past the joint there.
