Title: Pulse Generator Question
Post by: jccbone62 on June 15, 2010, 02:25:51 PM
I'm looking for some help with possible Pulse Generator Question.
Why does the manual ask to check for a .4mm to .6mm gap between the pulse gen and the contact when there are no adjustments?

The pulse gen does not make physical contact with the wheel nor does the gap has any affect on the resistance reading.
Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks!

I think there is a gap there because of a hall-effect sensor mounted in the pulse generator (pickup) I use these at work and there needs to be an air gap, and the distance needs to be pretty accurate to make or break the circuit.  There may be no adjustment, but things happen, ike rivets loostening, parts pressed wrong, etc. lets start out with your symptoms first and go from there. what is exactly wrong?
