Have a few MOOT'sters needing to do some work so Saturday July 10 at my place. If enough are interested and confirm early I can fire up the smoker etc..
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE WRENCH SESSION LOCATION HAS CHANGED. IT IS NOW GOING TO BE HELD AT JEFF ATKINS PLACE. SCROLL DOWN TO HIS POST WITH HIS ADDRESS/INFORMATION
Need one but will be in Arizona that day. I may talk to you about holding an East Texas one when I get back if you can come down to help.
Going to write this in my calendar only to see I have a dealer show to attend that day. :-(
I'll show up.
Especially if someone is cooking :D
QuoteEspecially if someone is cooking
By July the 10th we may all be cooking, dry roasting on the way and slow baking the rest of the time :D!! Not that it won't be worth it 8). I'm going to try and make it, if I don't burst into flames on the way .
Pretty sure I can make it.
I'll be there.
I should be there but won't be on the Valk   will be in something else hmmmmmmmmmmm

Pony car.
Greg, I want to offer my house/garage for the wrench session. I have a good size garage (about 3 1/2 car size), some fans, a big covered back porch and swimming pool. A little finger of Lake Lewisville is about a 200 foot walk through the woods from my backdoor and you can wet a worm if you want. I also have a smoker and grill. We live in Denton County, about 5 miles east of Denton just south of Hwy. 380 in a little town called Cross Roads. I do not have nearly as many tools/gadgets as you do (I do have the basics including a floor jack) so that might limit what can be accomplished (but somebody could probably bring the required tools for the scheduled repairs). As it will be probably be more than just warm, I was thinking the garage and porch would keep us out of the sun and we could cool off in the pool (bring your own bathing suit - I have plenty of towels). Just let me know if you think having the session at my place is a good idea.
Jeff Atkins
Would love to come but will be out of town that weekend. Have a great time and will see everone at the next one.
Jeff, we can certainly use your place. I have something that I want to attend later that evening. At the American Airlines Center they are hosting a car show that I am going to enter with our car. ALL proceeds go to Texas Scottish Rite Hospital (which my Orthopedic team that I am the surgery Coordinator for, is part of).
It starts at 5pm and runs to 10pm. So I would need to be back here at my place (if I ride) by 2pm, (if I drive the car) simply be at the AAC before 5pm.
Great.
With typical traffic it takes about 1 hour to get from my house to downtown. From my place to yours it is a little longer, probably about 1 hour, 15 minutes (avoiding downtown by taking 635 from the Tollway, thru Garland/Mesquite to Hwy. 175). Thus, if you are on the Valk you would need to leave my place about 12:45 pm to be home by 2:00 pm. If you think that will not provide enough wrenching time and/or want to go straight to the AAC from my house (you are welcome to shower here) you would need to leave by about 4:00 pm. Either way is fine with me.
Our address is 4600 Oak Shores Circle, Cross Roads, Texas 76227, which can be found in Google Maps. Generally, from points in downtown Dallas and east the best route is north on the Tollway to Hwy. 380 and then west for about 9 miles. From Fort Worth and points west the best route is I-35W north to Hwy. 380 (which is called University Dr. in Denton) and then east for about 7 miles. If you are coming from somewhere in between Dallas and Fort Worth get on I-35E headed north and exit Swisher Road in Lake Dallas and turn right, taking Swisher Road over the new Lake Lewisville toll bridge (of course) to Eldorado (the first light on the east side of the lake), taking Eldorado north to Hwy. 380 and then left. Once on Hwy 380 find Moseley Road (it is a little road between the Discount Tire and Shell station, less than 1/4 mile west of Hwy. 377) and go south. Moseley makes a 90 degree bend after about 1 1/2 miles and turns into Tipps Road at this point. Take Tipps Road about 1/4 mile and turn right (the only way you can turn) on Keyes Road. Keyes Road takes you right into the Oak Shores subdivision after about 1 mile. Turn right at the first stop sign after entering the subdivision on Oak Shores Drive. Follow it for about 1/2 mile to the last cul de sac (which is on the left) and turn left on Oak Shores Circle (my street). My house is white stone/metal roof one at the back of the cul de sac. Be careful when you get to the subdivision as the roads were recently "repaired". There is lots of loose gravel.
If anybody needs additional directrions my cell is 972 768-8165.
I'll have the coffee ready at 8:00 am. If I can get a rough idea of how many are coming I'll start smoking some chickens early that morning so they will be ready by lunch.
Jeff
Please note that the location has changed! See above post.
I'm going to try to make this, hopefully those of you with Magna experience can diagnose my problems with my 83 V45 and get me going in the right direction. I also have a couple extra parts for early Magna's and a V30 gas tank if any one is looking for stuff I'll bring them.....David
I will be there still with Candyman see you all there hopefully if Lucas the Prince of Darkness allows it LOL
Bring Dyna Beads.........
Heheheh I need to order some more sorry!!!1
Looks like the chance for rain decreases tomorrow.
I was going to pick up some chickens for smoking if enough folks are going to make it. If possible, please email (jgalaw@flash.net) or call me (972-768-8165) by 6:00 pm tonight if you are coming.
Jeff
I will bring my chain tool in case anyone wants to do chain work.
I'm still going to make it.....
Sorry we couldn't make it to the wrench session, but look who is coming in his new (to him) Spitfire.
Alan left here en route to the session in what was my Daughter's first car. I talked to her and she and I decided it was "going to a good home"!(http://i607.photobucket.com/albums/tt160/BUDMANGEEZER/ForumPhotos/Alan.jpg) (http://i607.photobucket.com/albums/tt160/BUDMANGEEZER/ForumPhotos/ByeBye.jpg)

Sorry I had to miss this. It would have been a long ride from Arizona. You need to plan on coming to my place on the 31. Got someone needing to change front seals. Never dome those
Good to see all! Sorry about your contribution to the city fund Ruben.
I made it home, found some water under the bike and thought it was from the rain. Rode to church Sunday morning and still had water. Got it home and still leaking and found a cracked connection for one of the radiator hoses on the back/bottom of the radiator. It came off with little pressure. Now I need a guy who welds aluminum radiators. Know of someone?
Thanks so much Jeff for the hospitality! Great home!

Bob, take the radiator off and let me have it, I'll know a great welder.
Bob if Jeff's person can't do it I know someone that should be able to do it.

You need to bring that to East Texas on the 31st.
I was in a hurry and found someone already. He did his best and then I added JB Weld to the project last night. Today I get the coolant and finish the job.
I wish I had waited.
