Anyone wanna go for a ride this coming saturday? I need to get in some therapy, I mean riding.... Holler at me if your up for a run somewhere.....
the DFW VRCC is having a meeting/ride combo to Riscky's BBQ at the stockyards in Ft Worth. I was thinking of riding out could come by and pick you buys up. Or I am up for something else.
Never ridden with them before.
I was thinking BBQ, but maybe away from the metromess some...

Got a new place close to here that opened up. Not BBQ but good.
Called Moore's Store, it is in the newly renovated town of Ben Wheeler. Across the street is a place called Scoots and Scoops. It is an ice cream parlor lined with antique motorcycles, mostly old scooter types. I could check and see if they are going to be open. We could eat, ice cream then go for a country ride.
Any good BBQ places around?

Good chance I will be doing the normal breakfast ride, looks like you have this figured out already and breakfast isn't close to BBQ.
I do plan to do some rides to BBQ houses in the future if anyone is interested.
so whats the plan you guys coming out here or we going up your way. Bakers ribs in canton is suppose to be good. It is on the service road of I20, or the purple pig, or Rods. We could then ride into Ben Wheeler and check out the ice cream.

Google maps shows it at the intersection of HWY14 and County Road 244, just north of Mexia. Intersection is called Ft. Parker, for some reason.
I have never been there -- just tried to find a place about halfway between us. From Van, I expect you would come through Athens....
Im up for that ride. I could ride to seagoville and ride down with Greg and whoever else wants to ride.
Not trying to talk you guys into a longer trip than you want. I don't know if anyone else from Central Texas would come or not. Bill Duke seemed interested, but may only have been being polite. Haven't heard from Rick F in awhile. Not sure if the Houston guys are even interested.

Ya'll eat a slice of pie for me. I had to work straight through last weekend and just found out we're doing it again this coming weekend. It's been too long since my last good ride (swinging bridge).

Had a great ride today.. 235 miles for Anthony and I to meet up with Jim Tindall, Lawrence Ragan, and Bill at Kirbys BBQ in Mexia for lunch.

It was a great ride. Bill and I went about 350 miles round trip, including the loop around Austin to avoid the traffic on the way home.
Twas good to see everyone. I liked the ribs, too.
Funny thing, Google Maps from my computer showed only one location for Kirby's. Supposedly the same map from my Android phone showed a location "B" exactly where we found it.
Pretty strong winds on the way home. Got home about 5:40, pretty tired, but quite happy. Is it June yet?
