Title: valk front tire suggestions
Post by: Greg Cothern on March 14, 2011, 12:13:56 PM
I know its not a magna.
But I am going to get new shoes before MOOTMag on the Valk. I have run on the past Metz and was not happy with feel or life. Also have run Avon Venom which like and wear is good.
Any suggestions?

No help here.  I am just happy you are getting new rubber.  Don't ever want to see cords showing like at Beaver's Bend...

Not a Magna or a Valk but I put Avon Venoms on my ride 2 weeks ago and have never enjoyed a tire more.

I have run the Venoms on this bike before and liked them.  They are not currently making them for the Valks, they replaced them with the Cobra series, which I am running now.  They are as close to the Venoms as I have found.

The Metz for the Valk I DO NOT LIKE at all...  Love them on a Magna....

Thinking of going to the Darkside for the rear...

Here's one to think about. The Yokohoma Avid ENVigor. They make it in a 205/60/R16
I almost went with this tire.

The Bridgestone Potenza Grid G019 I bought is good, but I keep wondering if the ENVigor wouldn't have been less flat-footed.

Wow 45 psi...  Thats much higher than I hear folks running them, actually I hear them running low 30's even upper 20's.....  Maybe some more folks running them will speak up..

I have very much thought about going to the darkside on the Valk....  Just still not 100% sure, I guess I need to ride one with the car tire for  more than a couple miles and get with it..
