Title: Fork seal question?
Post by: Md.ford020509 on April 21, 2011, 05:13:38 AM
I have replaced the fork seals on my 94 magna 750 and am unsure how much oil to put back into them. If you know please enlighten me. Thanks.

Here is what the Shop Manual says.. Not sure if that oil amount is for one fork or both...
The 122 represents a measurement to the oil level but it's in Millimeters or something.. (4.8 inches I believe)

SO, I didn't answer your question, but I got you closer..

521 cm3 is the amount of oil for the one fork leg.
122 represent a distance, from the top of the fork to the oil level, but for that you need a special tool, the tool look like a syringe.

Mine seem to work OK, and I don't have such a tool.  I simply measured down from the top of the tube to the average level of the oil.  122mm = 4.8 inches down from the top.  If you measure at the back side, the oil will be higher (less than 4.8 inches) and at the front it will be lower (more than 4.8 inches), so I just stuck a tape in the middle and filled until it measured 4.8.
