First of all, I'm new to MOOT....kinda. Long time reader, first time writer ;)
Anyway, I've been combing around the web for some ideas to modify the tail light on the Mag. I've seen a lot of the Cat eye tail lights, but it doesn't really fit my style. I like the round style lights that the old super mags had, but was wondering if anyone has modified the 3G's to either accept that tail light or have used some kind of round lights off of something else? I've also looked at doing some kind of oval-shaped light like the trailer lights that you can find just about anywhere, but all the lights that I've found are too long to fit neatly into the fender. I've combed the local Autozone, O'Reillys and Advanced Auto without much luck. If all else fails, I may try to find a fat bob lens and do that conversion. I was just wondering if anyone has pics of any modifications- round, oval, etc.? Since its getting warmer here in Illinois, I've been working on the Magna by putting in 42 slow jets, 105 mains, new air filter, one new idle mix screw (Oops!) and have decided to change the tail light while I'm at it.
Any ideas/pics appreciated!
Mine's pretty modified, but still a Magna!

Sorry, I'm still a stock taillight guy, but I did find a 7" LET strip at Harbor Freight and stuck that on the inside of my sissy bar for a running light and added 2 LED Pods off a bar that extends out from the license plate as additional brake lights..
I'm more of a I don't really car how it looks kinda guy, so long as I can be seen!!!
The stock taillight ONLY has one bulb.. I don't want to be out on a dark road and the bulb blows out and I can't be seen from the back..
So the strip acts as a secondary tail light and the pods as brake lights.. Of course if the fuse blows, I'm up the creek..
Here are the brake lights.. The picture doesn't really do any justice as the pods are much brighter than the stock light...

Those came on my bike and I found them here for cheap if I needed more.

ToolBoxPop. What did of bars do you have on your bike. I want something straigher than my bars now.
Ingramml, the bars that I have on the bike in the pictures on this post were a set I wwelded up and painted myself from some 7/8 round stock I had in the garage. They caused quite a bit of wobble on heav excelleration, so I now have a set of dirt bike handlebars I bought for about 15 bucks. I don't like the look as much but it really helps with control and ride position. I think I'm going to leave them on.
