Title: De-rusting a 83 VF750F tank, need some advise about the petcock.

Hi All,
Well I bought a 83VF750C that was in a shed for three years for 500.00 about a month ago. Put on a clean set of carbs and de-rusted the tank. Replaced a cracked rotor and adjusted the valves. All fluids changed, brakes and clutch bleed and a new fork oil. The bike fired up with full choke and idled around 1,300 rpms. I then traded it for a 83 VF750F. I have it torn down and the carbs all apart and soaking in  a gallon of Gunk. I had to drill out the pilot screw on the #2 carb. I used a carbide end mill to create a flat then a 13/64 left hand drill bit for an eazy out. Anyway, I am about to use some marine clean, evapo-rust and rust bandit on the Interceptor gas tank. I bought a new o-ring for the fuel sensor do I need any o-rings or gaskets if I remove the petcock. I read that all mechanical devices and rubber parts need to be removed before I use these strong cleaners.
TIA
