i was wondering.. ( sorry 'bout the language, i'm from holland..)
what if i trie to put a harleytank on my magna?
it is a lot bigger so i can stop when I want, it's made out of two pieces so it should be made to fit..
or do i miss something?
a valkieretank is not an option, i've seen ONE of them in het last 5 years around here...
The fact is that it just costs too much if you were to buy a Harley tank and making it fit.
I wonder what is the next closest Honda tank with a larger bottom that fit loosely over the 3rd generation magna. That way all you have to make is a larger set of rubber mount and maybe a bracket.d
there was a guy who used to make a harley tank/magna conversion, but i think he is out of business now. here are some pictures:

Make it happen and take LOTS of pictures through the process.. Learn us Yanks a thing or two!!
Terry as a tank that was cut and add two or three inch of metal. I don't know how much it adds but I would guess it adds about 40 to 50 miles to the tank. I think it looks good.

I can shoot a photo if you have an interest in modifying the original tank.
If it only gives you a gallon or so and gives you another 50 miles. I don't think it would match up with the cost of haveing it done. Myself after riding for 100 miles straight I'm ready for a break.

if you would, please!
i looked at the Harley conversion chad showed and it ended up like this:

i don't like the way the tank is sitting above the saddle, i would like it to be in a line..
i already thought to make a sort of "sparetank"under the saddle. the hot-rodtanks on the sissybar are not my style.
there must be a way to get some more miles?!!!
they sell a spare tank that you can but on your luggage rack Jim Tindale use to have one added about another gallon and a half.
i know. i think that's ugly!
i use my bike to go to work, i don't want anyone to rip a hose of a sparetank and couse accidants...
That tank is aweful. It takes away from the stream lines of the bike.
I rather liked Jim's extra tank -- it was made from a pony keg. Imagine my disappointment when I discovered that it was a gas tank!!

I like it also. If we ever take a trip with Brenda's bike I was going to look into one
Also 150 miles I am ready to stretch the legs just glad I can go almost 200 if needed.

This mod added 1.17 gallons, I did not do the mod but I have small photos from the guy who did. This is an original modified Magna tank, the tank is no wider but the back has been raised.
The finished product, the design on the outside will change and I will probably repaint.

Thanx for the picture Terry!!
