Title: New "old" guy
Post by: Bokobob on August 15, 2011, 06:47:05 AM
Hello, everyone....

Old Bob here, age 75, and now an honorary member of MOOT.....
I live near Charlotte, NC., in the small town of Gastonia....

My ride is a showroom condition 94 Magna....I generally get out three times a week in decent weather for short rides of a half hour or so....If I go beyond that length of time, I pay for it with near exhaustion later in the day....Usually I stay on country roads near my house..

I first rode in the fifties when a buddy let me ride his Harley 125 bike..I had a Whizzer Motorbike at the time as well.  I resumed riding in 2008...

All regards,

..

Glad to have you on MOOT Bob reliving some of your past memories, the Magna will get your blood flowing, just don't push yourself, especially in this heat. My dad still takes trips with us at 77 years old.

Actually, here in NC the fastest coloor is red....

BTW, I note there is substantial interest/postings on darkside tires on MOOT...I plan to go with a BFG radial next time around...Will have to get a new brake stay rod/whatever...might modify, but likely will just buy the aftermarket wider one.  I don't do twisties except at super safe low speed so am not worried about losing traction, plus the long wear appeals to me...

Regards,

Believe it or not, I've had much better traction with my Car tire than I ever did with a M/C tire, especially in curves..

I too, am a convert to "the Dark Side".  My experience is similar to Hoot's.

Glad to have you aboard the board, Bob.  Now there is someone on here older than I am!
