I stopped to get gas and saw my reflection and I had no headlight.
My high still works but the low is out. I did not notice because my driving lights was lighting up the road.
Where did you get your new bulb at?
Looking for one brighter then stock.

I purchased this bulb on Terry's recommendation and I've been very happy.
I don't know if you want to buy two or not..
If not, do a search for "Osram Silver Star H4" - you will find plenty of listings and might be able to find a listing for one bulb alone..
This seems like a good deal - http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2x-H4-Silverstar-50-auto-OSRAM-/180709079166?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a1319b87e (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2x-H4-Silverstar-50-auto-OSRAM-/180709079166?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a1319b87e)
Thanx Terry for the post.. The gift that keeps on giving..
+1 on the Osram, have one in mine. Bought two 3 years ago and still have the second one sitting in the garage.
If you don't want to wait on shipping go to walmart and get one.

Is it the same one above?
I just use the driving lights until I get new one.
Not sure if it is the same one as above but you can get the bright white light not sure of the part number.

No, the Walmart one is Sylvania, which according to other posts is not as good as the Osram, although they are the same company apparently. Osram is the non-US brand and was supposed to be better quality.
Talk about a price difference. I know companies need to make money. But the first one is over 3 times the second one.
So buy three of 'em and put two on the shelf. Surely they don't last three times as long??
When I started my career, most consumer electronics were still using vacuum tubes. There was RCA, GE, Sylvania, Zenith, and Motorola that I remember in the market. Whenever say, Sylvania was setting up to run a particular tube of the popular set, say a 12AX7, they would call all the others and ask how many they wanted. They already had the competitor's boxes in the plant, and would run off the total, labeling and boxing each one accordingly. We all advertised that our tubes were best, which was a big joke for those in the know...
I wonder if these bulbs are made the same way?
Several thing are like that. I believe silicon is only made by GE but a lot of other companies sale it.
Tires are made in very few places.
In the 80s Rockwell would sale something that someother company made. The company is still around under a newer hipper name. LOL
I've been very happy with the Philips X-Treme Power bulbs. They are the brightest bulbs I have found (even brighter than the Osram) and I have been running one for just over two years without any problems or failure. The only caveat is that they don't seem to be available in the US. I ordered mine from the UK (two bulbs in a package for about $40 shipped).
Put in the new bulb today. There is a first time for everything. A bulb is much cheaper but a light assembly is much easier. The lip holding the clip was to tight to let the wire come free.
Will try the new bulb tonight.

The light is brighter. Had to adjust the beam higher.
