Again I'm writing to ask what to some might seems like a stupid question.
On both my 1983 V65 Magna's the front fork brace is substantially corroded and looking both cosmetically horrible but also I would guess not as strong as one would wish--after nearly 30 British Winters.
Now my question is this:-
I have the option of having two fork braces made by our resident tool maker.
The material used will be far superior to anything Honda ever used but, the original has what looks like a deflector 'lip' on it's top surface. So, do the Magna aficionado's here think this is an air deflector for helping to keep the front wheel more steady at speed, or to help steer air up onto the radiator or purely cosmetic?
If it's the last one, I can just not worry but if it's either of the first two, I might have problems. Sounds daft I know, but just wishing to know.

Andy;
IF you have NOT replaced your V65 fork brace yet and still have the Stock one on the bike, if it were me, I'd stop riding the bike.
The V65's were known to have the Fork Brace crack and break usually under higher speed and has cause many crashes..
I wouldn't worry about the wing.. They sell new stainless steel braces on e-bay for a pretty reasonable price..
Use the "search" feature at the top of the page and there is more than one thread on the subject..
