I just went to replace the pads on my bike and i cant figure out how the pad spring (45108-ML7-922) is suppose to be placed in the caliper. Part is #1 on page 14-4 of the service manual. From the picture it looks like it lays in the top of the caliper and adds tension to the pads in a downward direction. But when i tried that I was unable to insert the pin hanger as the pad holes didnt line up with the caliper holes. Do the tabs on the top of the pads somehow fit on the spring? There is a recessed area inside at the top of the caliper does the spring somehow fit in the recess?
I've looked at all the schematics and diagrams and still cant figure this out.

this way seemed to make the most sense to me, but after putting everything back together with the pistons fully retracted and am getting metal rubbing and wheel spin resistance. I took out the pads leaving the pad spring in that position and still got metal rubbing and wheel resistance.
