Things in my life have finally settle to where I can start working on my bike again. To recap I have a 1986 v45 MagnaI wanted to buy a larger bike but my grad project may take me to Africa and probably can't afford both. I changed the fork oil and seals on my bike. It was pitch black. I have a few other things I plan to do I will keep updating about progress and would love any assistance that can be offered. Rear shocks are probably next any suggestions?
I have a question about the slave cylinder. Mine is leaking. I replaced all the seals around a year ago. I am unsure if I should just replace the seals or if can clean or anything to avoid this happening any time soon. I have also considered replacing it but I don't want to if it can be still used.
It has been maybe 45 years since I used it, but I still own a cylinder hone. Consists of three grinding stones spring loaded onto a shaft that can be driven with a 1/4 inch drill. It is used to polish the inside of a brake cylinder (master or slave) so that the seals ride smoothly against the bore. Adds substantially to the life of seals, if the bore is scored or mildly corroded.
