Title: How do you remove the forks?
Post by: ScottXD45 on February 21, 2012, 07:49:30 AM
I am trying to remove the forks on a V65 but I'm not sure how. The brakes and front wheel are off I just want to remove the forks as an assembly if possible.

Do you mean remove the triple trees and forks as one unit or the forks from the triple tree?

Without looking or working on a V65, normally once you have the front wheel removed and all apparatus that is attached to the forks, you loosen both the top and bottom of the triple tree clamps and slide the forks out. The forks will come out as a whole without disassembly of the fork itself.

So I remove the tubes from the triple tree clamps, then I can remove the clamp from the frame?

Only thing I can add is that you will have to remove the two wire clips (one on each fork) on the fork leg. Then you can loosen the nut on top of the triple tree and remove it from the frame.
