Title: Fork oil or DEXRON transmission fluid?
Post by: ThomasMagna on March 31, 2006, 06:08:18 PM
I am going to replace the front fork fluid in the '82 Magna. The owner's manual says to use either the fork oil or ATF. Wondered what you folks use? I am inexperienced too so any tips would be helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Fork oil has more viscosity than the automatic transmission fluid.  Personally me I would go with the fork oil as I just think the ATF is not enough.  Just my $.02 worth.

Fork oil for sure, ATF tends to leak past the seals.
