Post by: boastarr on June 02, 2012, 05:54:04 PM
I'm wanting to put LED lights under and around my bike. Do I need a 12v converter or something? :???:

Should not need a converter as most LED kits are 12v should be able to hook a switch to turn them off and on and run to the battery and you should be good to go.

Are you running the strips or the individuals. And what's my limit to how many I can install?

Well they draw very little so you could probably light up the whole bike and not really worry about it. I am sure there are limits but thats beyond my scope LOL I have some little strips.

I haven't picked them up yet and I'm not sure how to connect them to the bike. Did you use zip ties?

Just look at the current that each strip draws, add them up, and make sure the switch will handle that much.  If they don't state the current, but tell the watts drawn, just divide by 12 (volts) to get the current.
