Title: Dunlop D404
Post by: Greg Cothern on April 14, 2006, 03:45:32 PM
Well I picked up and had mounted the Dunlop D404 170/80-15 for Devs 96
Magna.  It appears to be the replacement for the K555 I guess.
The tread pattern is similar but has deeper grooves and go from
center to move water out from under the tire.  Looks like it will handle wet
conditions well.
It is not as conservative of a pattern as the K555 as it rounds and
progresses to the sidewall more like a Metzeler.
Compound seems as though it is closer to that of the K555 and will
probably give equal mileage.
Price was good at $96.99 + tax for the tire at a local dealer, but
can be had online for $70 range of course you have to add shipping on
that LoL.

It's about time for my magna to get new tires (and I have a feeling they are the originals), are the D404 similar to Metzeler sizing where a 170/80-15 is a better fit than the 150/80-15?  Also, on the D404's what size would you go for on the front?  D404's only have 140/80-17 and not the 120/80-17?
