While having fun installing a stainless steel brake line on my magna, I also took apart and cleaned the calipers, pistons, etc.
Putting the pistons back in (there was ALOT of black gooey stuff that didn't want to come out) one of the dust seal lips tore off. I'm confident I got all of the torn part out but, the question is, how much do those dust seals do?
Do I need to worry about replacing them? Sadly the local Honda shops do not have any in stock.
Meanwhile the first ride of the season is coming up in a week, Milwaukee bound for work :-)
Thanks Buddy for taking my phone call. A really amazing phenomenon always happen, if I call someone for help the problems always fix themselves, I think problems are scared of my friends :)
Hop Along
Glad to help!
Now, if I can find a way to scare my number two cylinder into not oil fouling on my car I'll be in good shape!
Keeps the dust/dirt and especially the water out of the area where the real seals and piston surfaces lie.
