I feel comfortable enough with the shape of my house to open it up to a wrench session now. This would be a venue like Greg Cothern puts on, sans pet animals. I have the tools and facility. I could provide snacks/drinks. A ride loop/lunch can be incorporated into the schedule as well.
Anyone interested in doing one the Saturday before MOOTMag (June 1, 2013)?
I am located just south of Dallas near Ovilla, Texas.

yes for mine and a friends
Yes, I will need to replace the sprockets and chain.
Do you have a chain breaker or should I pick one up from the dealer?
Thanks
I have lots of other things here, but not a chain breaker unless you count a dremel tool because the majority of my machines are shaft driven.
I am going to make this official and hold a wrench session here at the house on Saturday June 1, 2013. Facilities will open at 0900.
Anyone who wishes to just show up and hang around is welcome. You can just do a bike wash and wax if you wish.
When the date gets closer, I will do a head count and e mail the address to interested parties.

We used to have a Chain Breaker and a master link riveter. I think the last time I saw it was at Mr. Ruggs place......

Could you be a little more specific about the scope of work?
Decisions decisions... I was hoping to come to this wrench session but my Oklahoma Highway Patrol Saferiders class for May 4 just got cancelled. Something about a rain/snow mix in the forecast.....
The makeup class date is June 1.
Wrench session, OHP class... decisions decisions
It's not that I think I need anything done, but I do enjoy learning and assisting where possible. And it's always a good ride to get out of town :-)

If it works for you, you are welcome.
My plans are to attend, need an address so I know where to go. Do I need to bring anything?
hey Dave, send me a PM with the address...I don't remember exactly your address...I don't have any work needing to be done but hope to drop by.
PMs sent.
Anybody else???
Based on the weather report for Saturday, I am going to advise any of you "out of towners" to stay home. There is supposed to be a cold front in here Saturday afternoon (late?) bringing rain. You local guys can get home in time to beat anything that pops up.
Doors will open at 0900.
If you don't have the address, let me know so I can PM it to you.
Still interested but keeping an eye on the weather. Nearly every day of work this week has ended in "weather is approaching, go home". I will probably decide Friday evening if I come down form Norman. If I do I should replace a known torn brake piston seal, and I expect to have a new chain and sprockets set... to test out that new centerstand :-)
If only I could remember the other things I thought about doing on a recent ride from OKC-Santa Fe-Tucson-Gallup, NM-Denver-Custer, SD-SW Minnesota-OKC I would take care of those too. I just knew I should have stopped and wrote 'em all down!

Scott- Deb, Beth, and I will be leaving for Rowlett, TX early Sat. morning, in the Mazda, if you want to draft ? Let me know.
Brad
Yes, it's Texas. just wait a minute and the weather will change.
Thanks Brad, I will consider that. It could be an opportunity for a twist on the 'catch the rubber bouncy ball' game..
lol

Have fun at the wrench session! Seeing as Friday night's weather has been a handful in the OKC area, and there is a forecast for more storms between here and Dallas Sat, I think I'll stay home in Norman. (insert chorus of boos here...)
So... extended wrench session at Hop Along's place :-)

Yes, that is what I would do.
I hope everyone is okay up there. This has been a rough season where tornadoes are concerned.
The doors are still going open at 0900 this morning for anyone else. I know Jim Tindall is on his way.
After all that concern about the weather and it never rained a drop. It looks better now than it did this morning.
Jim and Jerry made it in and together we tackled the Suzuki C50 project that Jim has on his plate. Got all the parts on, the tank cleaned up and the fuel system back together. A new battery and then nothing. No fuel getting to the engine. it would spit and fire on brake cleaner sprayed into the air box but nothing else. We finally got it tracked back to the kickstand switch and the electric fuel pump.
I gotta get the fuel pump ordered Monday, so this bike will have to wait until after MOOTMaG.
Thanks again Jerry and Jim for hanging in there with this one. I am determined to get it running and on the road at the next opportunity.
Enjoyed working on the bike thanks for lunch and the cookies hopefully a new fuel pump will get her running again.

... and nary a cloud in the sky of Norman. Ah well. It was a good day of working on my own, brake piston seals, sprockets and chain, tightened some loose bolts, coolant change (man I make a mess doing that....)
See everyone at MOOTMag!

Thanks Dave for the hospitality and work. I had a great time. We will get this
