I've seen several people rave about Rotella Synthetic...
I was at WalMart and they had Rotella Gallons for sale at $21.36, which seemed like a good deal (versus the $7/quart for Valvoline M/C oil)...
Plus it has a $5.00 rebate.. So that's $16.36 a gallon... That's $4.09/quart... Seems great..
Here is my concern.. I bought Rotella T6.. which states "Energized Protection".. Whatever that means..
I don't see anything that states Zinc or Friction reducers, but I wanna make sure I shouldn't have bought T5 instead of T6... (both types listed on the rebate form as synthetic..
Thanx for your response in advance...
OK... Did a little more research... T5 is Synthetic Blend and T6 is fully synthetic, so I think I'm good..
BTW - the $5 rebate is from March 1 thru May 31st, so I hope they don't deny my rebate...
I have used the t6 in my goldwing with no issues it works great.
Thanx Jerry...
Hoot, I have used the Rotella full synthetic, Mobile One and Quaker State full synthetic in all my Valks and I have no complaints about any of them.
T6 is actually JASO-MA rated for use in wet-clutch applications so no worries. You really can't beat the price, especially with the rebate. I picked up two gallons last Fall and got my checks already.
i switched to t6 a couple of weeks ago. no problems yet and seems to run better.
What weight did you buy?

5w40 - I would have preferred 50 wt, but I bought what they had...
for the t6 its the 5w-40
I use the T6 in all 3 of my Magna`s, and in my wife's VTX. I also use the Bosch 3323 filter in all 4. Change the oil every 4000 miles and never had a problem.
