I'm selling my 1999 Honda Magna with 17,000 miles. $3,500.00. In excellent condition with many extras, including a batwing fairing. Attached is the Craig's list link

You have a lot of the right parts added.

1. How do you like the batwing?

2. Did the Mustang pass backrest holes line up to bolt on or did you have to fab something up.

3. What bikes have you looked to get next.

I love the batwing, it makes it handle like a totally different motorcycle, especially on the interstate. it cuts through the wind great and you don't get the wind buffet in the handlebars like with a typical windshield.

Mustang has a backrest pad manufactured to bolt directly to the Honda Line backrest frame you just have to make sure you select it when ordering.

My wife and I have started doing some longer trips and already have reservations made for Sturgis 2015. We're gonna make a 4000 mile ride over 12 days and are looking at a Harley Ultra Limited as our next bike.

The Ultra Limited is a nice ride.

I've gotten several offers of $2,000.00, is that all nice Magna's are bringing?  I had a guy look at it this morning and said he'd be back with cash in a bit to buy it but never showed up.  I called him and he said he found another one locally and bought it for $2,000.00 but it was bone stock with a big dent in the tank.  Am I way too high on mine at $3,500.00?

We all know that they are worth much more but most of them I see on Craig's list for over 2500 to 3500 seem to stay there. I like the way you have yours set up but I have 2 motorcycles a magna and a ultra classic so I am not in the market.

Thanks for the input.  I guess I may need to reconsider the price but I sure hate to go much lower with everything I've put on it.  An Ultra is gonna be my next purchase, how do you like yours?

I have a 2010 ultra classic limited I love it when my wife and I go places it's a very comfortable riding bike with lots of power and very easy to control. When I ride by myself I love my magna so much fun to ride.

They go for around $2000 - $2500 around here in Florida (Mostly Stock)..
You can probably get more for yours, but You may not get what you want.. That's the problem with making vehicles "yours"...
Make sure you list in the ad what each of the upgrades costs.. That may shake someone into understanding why it's more..
But you MAY have to wait for the right buyer..
Your other choice is to start stripping parts off, and sell them individually, then off the Magna for $2500..
You will probably get what you are looking for, but it will take more time...

I sure would like a pair of progressive rear shocks.. But, I don't have the $$$ to put into that what they are worth..

Hope it helps...

Thanks for the advice, I never thought about adding the prices for the upgrades on the post.  Stripping it down is a thought for sure and I totally understand what you mean about personalizing.  I just re-posted it at $2895.00 and will probably leave it at that until people start getting tax returns and see what happens then.

And don't forget this is not the best time to be selling.  Spring will see the market pick up (hopefully).  I have mine listed for $2800 in NC and you can hear the crickets chirping.  Can't even get the scammers to bite.  Good luck with your sale.

I've decided to go ahead and sale any of the aftermarket parts off of the bike that anyone might be interested in. Maybe I can actually come out better that way.

Just thought I'd update that I sold my Magna today for $2800. A gentleman flew from Orange County California to Arkansas and bought it. He rented a Penske truck, loaded it up and headed back to CA. He said he felt like he got an awesome bike for the price and that it was well worth the trip to get it. I hope he enjoys it as much as I did the 6 years I had it.

So you left everything on it???

I saw a '95 on Craigslist the other day.. It had less than 1K miles on it (a little over 600 if I remember right)...
Bone stock, He wanted $4K for it..
Brand new 19 year old bike??
I thought I did good with my '94 I found with 7700 miles on it for $2K

Yeah I did. Just about the time I was gonna start pulling parts off I had 2 different people interested. They were both waiting on tax returns then the guy from California called and wired me a cash deposit and got on a plane the next day. the only thing I have left is a set of Supertrap mufflers

Every Batwing I've seen is made for a larger headlight.. Where did you find one for the Magna Small Headlight?

That fairing was actually made for a honda 600 which has the same headlight and front forks as a Magna. It took a lot of research to figure it out and a rep for Memphis Shades told me it wouldn't work. I sent them pictures after it was mounted but they never replied.

How much adaption did you need with the mounts?

No mods required. The Magna and the 600 use the exact same brackets. Memphis shades offers a regular windshield and a batwing for the 600 but only a windshield for the Magna but as you can see the fairing works.  Just order the Magna/600 brackets and a fairing for the 600 and it all bolts right up. Just leave the brackets loose until you slide the fairing over the headlight then adjust the brackets accordingly.  The fairing is a snug fit over the headlight. Heating the plastic ring slightly helps.   Your turn signals will need lowered but I moved mine to the engine bar for a different look

I have a Memphis Shades "Big Shot" now.. I wonder if those mounts will work with the fairing?

I recommend going to the Memphis Shades web site, then go to the Honda application chart and compare part numbers. That should answer your question. Or see if you can find the part number on your current mounts and see if they match the ones required per the web site.

Are you referring to the Honda 600 VLX?

What years?

I took my 1999 Magna up to a dealer. I'm looking at Victory's for a step up. Mind you I love my Magna and would keep it if I had the room for 2 bikes. I saw a Victory King Pin on the dealers web page that I liked. They took me into their used bike show room. They had over 400 bikes in there. I look around and finally found the bike I was looking for. But it certainly did not look like the bike I saw on the web page. It had been cannibalized. What was on the web page had a two up seat with a passenger back rest. No it was a single seater. It also had hard saddle bags on the web page. They were missing but the frames were there. It also had crash bars and floor boards which were also missing. I questioned the salesmen about the location of the parts. All he could tell me was that was the way the bike was brought in. When I showed him the web page pictures and that the VIN numbers matched. He had no clue what to say. He had to have someone else come and talk to me. The guy offered to change out the seat and give me a set of bags. He showed them to me and they were throw overs that were so small you'd struggle to get a sneaker into each one. I showed them my bike and they offered me $1500 for it. They asked if I wanted to sign on the line. I said print it up and let me think it over. They told me to give them a $100 to hold the bike in case someone wanted it. That was non refundable. They printed it out and looked at the write up. They had over $400 in extra fees between VSI and DOC fees. Not happening with this guy. I offered to pay out right cash. I have a vanity plate on my bike. It's only a $100 in Mass. for plate transfer and title search.

I do like the Victory bikes, too bad you could not make it work. I wonder if they took the acc. off to sell individually.
