Hey guys - and gals
I noticed that my rear turn signal is not working. I replaced the bulb - but that wasn't it. The bulb is good - I checked it on the other side and it worked.
What should I check next?

What year and make is the bike?? Is the front right working?? May have a wire loose under the seat.

A simple 12 volt test light is very helpful. I always start at the problem and work backwards. Check to see if you have current to the contacts in the light socket, sometimes they need cleaning if that's it not keep checking everything in that circuit . also don't forget the ground wires they are notorius for losing connection. I'm sure more help is probably on the way, good luck

Go to O'reiley"s or Autozone and buy a test light they aren't expensive . They look like an icepick with a wire coming from the handle. attach the alligator clip from the test light wire to a metal part of the bike. if the seats removed, and it should be, (just 1 bolt on each side of the seat at the rear of the seat) attach the clip to the negative (black) side of the battery. then touch the point to the positive (red) side and the light in the handle should light up. then try to determine which wires come from the turn signal to a group of wires under the seat. An 87/88 has a light blue hot wire and a green ground wire. Turn on the turn signal switch and punch the point of the tester through thhe light blue insulation to the wire inside. The test light should flash. Then clip the wire to the positive side of the battery and punch the point of the tester through the green ground wire insulation, it should light up solid. This will help identify if the problem is in the ground or the hot wire. I hope this helps.
