Title: '99 magna vf750c broke down mid ride
Post by: Olson0814 on April 23, 2019, 03:53:15 PM
While riding around 75mph, my bike made a weird noise that I can't describe, and then the exhaust sound changed as well to a lighter, less aggressive sound.  Like a put put type sound. (great adjectives right?).  Throttle didn't do a thing anymore and the bike slowly came to a hault.  Turned it off and tried to start it again, but nothing.  The engine noise was gradually getting louder before it broke down.  I also have an oil leak coming from the front left cylinder, if that helps at all.  I don't want to bring it to a mechanic since its an older bike and not worth it to me what they would be charging.  Any help is much appreciated.

did the oil leak only become apparent after this event???
Compression test?
Some description of the noise would help..

Other then the weird noise it sounds like when you run out of gas.
