I just bought my 82 magna V45 and am having problems getting it running I did the valve adjustment and took the carbs off and inspected/cleaned them. very fun stuff (this is my first V4 bike) since I've had the bike it only ran fine once for aprox 20 min now since I put the carbs back on it ran if I squirt fuel in the carbs but dies as soon as thats gone I've checked-Fuel pump/ lines /main relay / now I need to know how long cut out relay should let the pump run with no load / back pressure from the carbs the clymer says that to test the pump let it run for5 seconds mine wont go any were neer that long before this relay shuts it off.Any help would be great thanks Jim.

There should be a vacuum driven fuel cutoff, check to make sure you have all the lines back where they came from.  Also make sure you didnt accidentally split an old line or such.
