Hello all.
Well, I got the Magna out today after sitting for a few weeks. I went and got a new front tire (the old one was showing some signs of dry rot) and got her inspected, and all was good.
I took her on a little ride around and ended at my in-laws to chit chat and such. The bike sat for about 5 hours or so after which I cranked her up to start my journey home. She started fine (as usual) but when I tried to give her throttle, she bogged down (first time this has ever happened). I released the throttle and she idled normally. Tried again, and the same thing...
I put new plugs in a month or so ago and everything else seems to check out. She has gas. She was warmed up enough to at least take some throttle... I'm stumped...
I was planning to have some carb work done next weekend anyway, so I guess its good timing, but just seems odd to come out of the blue like that.
Anyone ever experince anything like this before?
Thanks,
Wade

Sounds to me like your slow speed jets are clogged a little. Get "SEA FOAM" fuel additive cleaner and put in the tank. Take her out for a good tank full ride and dont worry about running her up in the upper RPM's that will help.
A Magna does not like to sit for long at all, fire it up at least every week and take for a couple mile ride or they will do this.
Also dont spend a bunch of money having a dealership do the carbs, if you have any wrenching capabilities at all you can do the job.
I have a fairly good description write-up on how to accomplish the task.
Definitely try the SEAFOAM like Greg says. Then if you stil have problems maybe we can take a look next weekend (July 1st). We're having a coastal region wrenching and ride session at Kerry's house on July 1st, so come join us.
He lives near 1960 and 45. You should be able to take some back roads rather than slab it, and it won't be too far... I see you're in the Woodlands.

Thanks for the info guys.
Dang, last I had heard was that session got canceled... I've had other things come up unfortunatley and won't be able to make it...
I will try the SeaFoam and see what happens. Is that something I can get at the local Auto Zone or Wal-Mart?
As for the carbs, I probably can do it myself, but it is boiling down to a time saving issue. Seems I've been too busy to get things done as it is. Besides, I help Ed at Global Cycles out with his website (making sure his inventory is up to date) and he's good to me in return.
Thanks again, and I'll let you all know how the SeaFoam works out.
...and hopefully make a ride/wrench session one of these days.
